I remember well when we first moved to Blandford Street, Marylebone was not the fashionable area it is today. There were at least fifteen empty shops in the High Street and Conran’s shop at the top of the High Street was a very dilapidated run down tyre fitting shop. There was a Woolworth’s shop in the High Street which continued through to Blandford Street. There were family butchers, fish shops and greengrocers in the High Street. We originally rented the basement of No 23 only and our shop was a flower shop. The posh block of flats ‘Faraday House’ opposite our building was a London Electricity Board car park and our vans could park outside our shop without fear of a dreaded parking ticket. Gradually over the years we took over the whole of the building and now enjoy the pleasure of living and working in the beautiful environment that Marylebone has now become. We have recently refurbished the shop to a more modern and upmarket outlet to enable us to blend into this trendy and fashionable area. One thing in Marylebone that has not changed is the service MAC Services has provided its clients and customers over the years. Although a very modern company we provide old fashioned customer service where our customers, standards and our reputation take priority over everything else. My wife and I enjoy living and working and being part of the friendly close knit community in Marylebone and we hope to continue to serve our neighbours for many more years.
